New Digg extension now available for Chrome and Firefox

Digg Chrome Extension Drop downToday Digg has unveiled an extension for Chrome, and new updates for the already existing Firefox extension. The reason for the improvements is to create a less intrusive browser experience with less interruptions, as you can now Digg stories without visiting the site itself.

When using the Digg extension for Chrome, a Digg number will appear next to any URL in your address bar. When clicking the icon you will be able to see the comment count for said URL, as well as a button for you to Digg it. The Chrome extension is only available to PC, Digg is still working on it for Mac.

The Firefox extension has been improved by moving the Digg count and button to the navigation bar, which means you no longer have to open the toolbar for stories. You also have the ability to now close the toolbar by clicking (Cmd+Shift+E ).

Both extensions feature simple drop downs for sharing on Facebook and Twitter.
