It was announced today that Digg’s Chief Strategy Officer Mike Maser, will be joining the AOL Team as their Head of Marketing for Consumer Applications. He will be joining a group led by President of Consumer Applications, Brad Garlinghouse, who was formally a Yahoo exec.
Garlinghouse stated in an email “It’s with much enthusiasm that I let you all know that Mike Maser has agreed to join us as the Head of Marketing for Consumer Applications. Mike comes to us from Digg where he was most recently the Chief Strategy Officer, leading all Marketing and Business Development efforts for the company.”
During the time that Maser worked at DIGG, he took multiple roles over the years within the company. Along with Chief Strategy Officer, he also worked as Chief Revenue And Strategy Officer until 2009 for the bookmarking site. Maser will officially be joining the AOL team next month, and he is expected to focus his efforts on AOL’s AIM, Mail, Mobile and Lifestream products.
