Today Garmin announced the recall of 1.25 million personal navigation devices that the company says are considered a fire hazard. There are five Nuvi models included the recall – the 200W, 250W, 260W, 7xx and 7xxT (where xx is a two-digit number). The units that have been recalled have batteries manufactured by a third-party that can be prone to overheating. Visit Garmin to determine if your Nuvi model is one of those units affected and instructions on how to return your device.
