It turns out, when it comes to wireless services, bigger isn’t always better. According to a recent study from J.D. Power and Associates, the smaller of the wireless carriers in the United States have the highest levels of customer satisfaction.
Of the four major carriers in the United States, Sprint and T-Mobile ranked highest in terms of customer satisfaction. Verizon came in third, while AT&T brought up the rear with a shoddy two-out-of-five rating.
Both Sprint and T-Mobile scored well in terms of cost of services, J.D. Power and Associates found. Additionally, Sprint customers seemed to be satisfied with website sales, promotions and offerings.
Among non-contract service providers, Boost Mobile’s customer satisfaction was ranked highest, with a five-out-of-five rating. This was followed by MetroPCS and Virgin Mobile, each of which received ratings of four-out-of-five “power circles.”
This represents a significant shift from J.D. Power and Associates’ previous study, which found T-Mobile boasted the highest levels of customer satisfaction. However, in that same study, Sprint ranked only third.
