So you’re planning that next big gig for your birthday, or maybe you’re trying to plan your company’s next black tie event—and you don’t have any idea where to begin looking for party space. Sure, you could Google “party spaces in X city,” but that only gives you so much; you need a number of options laid out in front of you to find the best fit for your party’s theme.
And the clever minds behind the LA startup Eventup wanted to make this happen for you, creating a marketplace for open venues. But these venues aren’t your average country club banquet room; with Eventup you can rent famous abandoned LA mansions for a surprisingly inexpensive price.
For instance, ever want to party it up in Vinny Chase’s mansion featured in the show Entourage? How about Eric Clapton’s former pad? With Eventup these dreamy-sounding experiences can become a reality.
Tony Adam, the founder of Eventup, said, “Owners and realtors are really excited[.] [...] They’re like ‘Yeah, I’d love it if you could take my awesome, modern house in Hollywood Hills and throw a big party there.’” And we would love it, too!
The response so far has been good, and former co-workers of Tony Adam say he’s a “leader in the social web, particularly SEO, and knows how to build solid web apps. He started zeroing in on the fact that if you wan tto throw a party, a fundraiser or wedding and want to see all the places locally where you cand o that, it’s difficult to find a solid directory. When he started exploring the concept and talking to property owners and real estate companies, the response was incredible,” said an Eventup investor from Science, Inc.”
Connect with Eventup via their Facebook and Twitter to start browsing a variety of places to hold your next big gathering.
