Dell sees 6.5 million in revenue through Twitter

Blue Dell LogoOne of the most active companies in the social media arena; Dell has seen tremendous success with social media marketing, particularly with Twitter. According to their latest numbers, Dell has seen some 6.5 million dollars in revenue from their Twitter promotions.

According to Dell their Twitter sales have tripled this year. Dell has nearly 1.5 million followers on their @DellOutlet Twitter account, and 3.5 million combined followers on their other social media sites.

Although the 6.5 million is only a fraction of Dell’s total sales ($60 billion last year), it is nothing to scoff at. The news further solidifies the value of social media marketing, especially with Twitter. The only question that remains is when Twitter will monetize its site? Although there have been rumors of dedicated accounts and advertising, nothing has yet been confirmed.
